SIMON LANGENFELDER STORMS TO PODIUM FINISH IN CZECH REPUBLIC

BACK-TO-BACK MX2 PODIUM FINISHES FOR SIMON LANGENFELDER.

Still flying high after double podium joy at the Grand Prix of Indonesia, the Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing squad travelled to Loket in the Czech Republic with their sights set on similar success. The iconic circuit was the location for the thirteenth stop of the 2022 FIM Motocross World Championship and, thankfully, more trophies were secured by the talented team.

Still flying high after double podium joy at the Grand Prix of Indonesia, the Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing squad travelled to Loket in the Czech Republic with their sights set on similar success. The iconic circuit was the location for the thirteenth stop of the 2022 FIM Motocross World Championship and, thankfully, another trophy was secured by the talented team.

Not far from his home nation, Simon Langenfelder gave the passionate crowd a lot to cheer about. The MC 250F rider stormed to a top-three start in the first MX2 moto and advanced into second before lap one was even complete. Langenfelder shadowed the leader from there and set some competitive times, but had to settle for the runner-up position at the checkered flag. Third was where he was ranked in the second moto, after starting in the same spot, which was enough for third overall at the Grand Prix too. '516' has tightened his grip on third in the championship standings, after his second podium in succession.

Simon Langenfelder: It was a good weekend! I was consistent and had two good starts. They were not perfect, but definitely good. I was feeling like I could make a pass for the lead in moto one, but he just did not make any mistakes. 2-3 for third overall is quite good! I took a lot of points too. Now we are looking forward to the sand next weekend.

Jorge Prado enjoyed a consistent weekend at the races, but missed out on a spot on the Grand Prix podium. '61' was in the thick of the battle for the race victory in moto one, as he jumped into the early lead and led the first six laps. Fifth was the spot that he secured in the moto and he was eager for more when the second moto fired into life. Unfortunately, a so-so start meant that he could only clinch fifth at the checkered flag. A 5-5 scorecard meant that he secured fifth overall on the day and added thirty-two points to his championship tally.

Consistency is something that Mattia Guadagnini has mastered in his short time aboard an MC 450F, as he secured more solid points on Czech soil and continued to establish himself as a top-ten runner. Eighth place was another strong showing in moto one – he followed that up with an eleventh in the second moto. 8-11 scores left him in ninth in the overall classification.

The Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing team will travel to a track that puts both man and machine to the test now. The bottomless sand of Lommel is set to host the fourteenth round of the current season this coming weekend.

Jorge Prado: It was a tough weekend, but I felt good physically. My riding was not too bad either. I just need to put everything together to make sure that I am fighting for the victory. I am looking forward to getting back to work with my team this week and I know that the next race will be better."

Mattia Guadagnini: I am pretty happy about my day. I think that I can do more at the moment – I am feeling so good on my MC 450F. My starts are quite good too, as we saw in the qualifying race yesterday, but I just made a few mistakes. I was happy with the passes that I made in the first moto and then I struggled with some arm pump in moto two. We will keep working to be closer to the top five! I am expecting more from myself now.
