GASGAS FACTORY RACING GOES ALL IN AT THE 2024 UCI E-ENDURO WORLD CUP

GASGAS IS SET TO ATTACK A BUSY EMTB RACE SEASON WITH A THREE-RIDER LINE-UP LOOKING FOR SUCCESS ON THE PRODUCTION ECC BIKES

It’s all systems go for GASGAS Factory Racing as the opening round of the 2024 UCI E-EDR World Cup takes place in Finale Ligure, Italy this weekend. Marking the first of six exciting races, team riders Alex Marin, Alex Fayolle and Johannes Fischbach have all got their sights set on putting the GASGAS ECC 6 at the sharp end of the results.

  • GASGAS Factory Racing to begin six round UCI E-Enduro World Cup
  • Alex Marin, Alex Fayolle and Johannes Fischbach will race the 2024 GASGAS ECC 6
  • Round one takes place in Finale Ligure on May 10-12
Feeling fresh and re-energized for the new season ahead, GASGAS Factory Racing, with main title sponsors SRAM and MOTOREX, are set for their second year in the UCI E-EDR World Cup. No longer rookies, the crew are excited to claim more podium results and really show what they can do on the ECC 6.

Despite being a newcomer to eMTB racing in 2023, our Spaniard Alex Marin really came out swinging. Alex bagged himself two runner-up results on his way to ending the year in a closely fought fourth overall. Sweating hard over the winter months to build on what he learned, he’s determined to take that next step and weigh into the title fight. With a preseason overall race victory already under his belt in the Spanish championship, we know he’s game-ready for Finale Ligure!

Quiet but unassumingly fast, Alex Fayolle is back on the roster for 2024. The Frenchman enjoyed a breakout season in 2023, scoring some stage wins and multiple top-five results. We know he’s got podium pace, and once it all comes together at round one, there will be no stopping him. Following up on a development season, Fayolle will be spearheading the team’s efforts to bring his DVO powered by WP equipped ECC 6 to another level of race performance on the E-EDR special stages.

Completing our trio of riders for GASGAS Factory Racing is Johannes Fischbach. Turning his hand from Downhill to eMTB racing in 2023 came with a mixed bag of results for the German. Hampered by some mixed fortunes during the early races, Fischi came good and closed out his learning year by twice finishing inside the top 10. Using the winter to improve, he heads to Finale Ligure in a happier place on his ECC 6 equipped with SYNTACE components. With tons of raw speed, we can’t wait to see Johannes put it all together across the six-round series.

The UCI E-Enduro World Cup gets underway with round one in Finale Ligure, Italy on May 10-12.

Alex Marin: “Honestly, the feelings are amazing coming into round one. With one year of E-Enduro under my belt, I feel in a much more confident place and better position than where I was last year. I feel like I’ve got my ECC 6 now setup how I like it. I’m excited to start racing and see how I can do.”

Alex Fayolle: “I learned a lot last year that has benefitted me coming into this season. My focus will be to stay calm for the entire day and reduce mistakes. I’ve had very little to change on the bike and it feels so good. We worked on some personal changes to fine tune things, but the suspension and motor are pretty much the same as last year. Overall, I know my speed is there to be at the top. I just want to show what I can do now.”

Johannes Fischbach: “It’s been a good off-season with productive training. Having spent a full year on the ECC 6, it’s nice to come into this season with a familiar setup and program. Also, coming into round one my confidence is higher because I know what to expect come race day. I think I needed that year under my belt to learn and now I can race harder.”

Cyril Lagneau, GASGAS Factory Racing Manager: “Everyone on the team is excited for the new season. There was a lot of development and learning done in 2023 and now you feel that added experience and confidence beginning to show coming into round one. Alex Marin, Alex Fayolle and Johannes have really gelled with the ECC 6. They’re not asking to change many things on the bike, so in my opinion, happy riders are fast riders. Personally, I’m very excited to take over the reigns as team manager this year. GASGAS was an exciting new team entering the paddock in 2023. I want to help take that to the next level.”
