GASGAS is pretty stoked to add a brand-new dirt bike to its 2027 line-up – the MC-E 2.12! Designed specifically for kids from the wheels up, this electric model makes it easy for youngsters to get into riding offroad safely. All red, with black wheels – just like the full-size GASGAS machines – ensures the MC-E 2.12 looks the business. And doesn’t it just? The returning MC-E 2 completes the e-mini range for 2027 and allows more children to get in on the action from a really young age.
Both the MC-E 2.12 and MC-E 2 make it really easy for kids to get started in the world of riding offroad. Since they’re battery-powered, they make no noise, which means they can be ridden almost anywhere. As long as you have permission, of course.
Each bike uses the same motor that’s conveniently housed inside the hub of the rear wheel. Pretty clever, right? This design ensures maximum safety, as there’s no chain or sprockets, and keeps overall maintenance to a minimum. All they really need is a wash when they’re dirty, and a quick check of the tire pressures before each ride. That really is about it.
When the battery runs low, it can recharge to 80% in just 35 minutes, with a full charge taking about an hour. Plus, the battery uses the same fitment as found on modern power tools, so if you have charged-up spares, the fun doesn’t have to stop!
Both models also boast another cool feature – adjustable ergonomics. With basic tools, the seat height can be raised easily, which means the kid in your life can keep riding the same bike for a little bit longer. Other cool features and components to mention include three ride modes with varying top speeds, WP suspension, KENDA tires, the aluminum frame and swingarm, and hydraulic disk brakes.
Technical HighlightsRemovable, fast-charging Li-ion battery – A full recharge takes about an hour, or for impatient kids, an 80% charge can be reached in around 35 minutes. Got fully charged spare batteries from modern power tools? If you do then these can be swapped in pretty quickly for non-stop fun!
Adjustable ergonomics – Both bikes can be adjusted in size using basic tools so as children grow, they can continue honing their skills on the same bike before moving onto a bigger model in the GASGAS line-up.
Low maintenance – Battery-powered. No chain, no sprockets, no pre-mixing fuel. Just easy, hassle-free riding.
Safety features – A rollover sensor cuts power if the bike tips over. Kids can also loop a lanyard around their left wrist so if their hand is removed, the motor stops immediately. Three power modes also allow for controlled progression.
Hydraulic disk brakes – Hydraulic brake systems front and rear are mated to disk brakes to provide confidence-boosting stopping power.
Strong wheels – Maintenance-free wheels are wrapped with knobby offroad tires from KENDA. The MC-E 2 has 10” wheels while the MC-E 2.12 features a larger 12” front to go with a 10” wheel on the back.
Modern design – All red, vibrant graphics, and black wheels. What’s not to love?
Top speed of 33 km/h – Mode one helps new riders ease into things with a modest top speed of 7 km/h. Mode two bumps it up to 20 km/h, while mode three unleashes the full 33 km/h – these little bikes can rip!
Quality components – Parts from WP suspension, KENDA, and ODI, together with black-anodized wheels and handlebars, underline the quality build of each bike.
