  • Jorge Prado scores 1-1 and closes the championship gap
  • Simon Längenfelder takes double holeshot awards and a P3 overall podium
  • Beddini GASGAS Factory Juniors’ Valerio Lata secures P2 in EMX250
He came, he saw, and he conquered! Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing Team’s Jorge Prado delivered a spectacular performance at the revamped Uddevalla MX track, Glimminge Motorstadion, securing his first-ever victory on Swedish soil with a dominant 1-1 result. This victory not only marked his 13th win of the season but also brought him within 17 points of championship rival Tim Gajser.

Arriving at Uddevalla with a clear mission to claim victory, Prado set the tone in qualifying by going bar-to-bar with Gajser, finishing a close second at the flag.
Come Sunday, Prado kicked it up a gear again, overcoming a tough start that briefly saw him drop to 5th. By lap ten, he had fought his way back to 3rd, and within just two more laps, he astonishingly reclaimed the lead. With two laps remaining, Prado expertly navigated the treacherous dark, rocky soil, creating an 8-tenths-of-a-second gap over Gajser. Securing his 13th win of the season at the flag, Prado set the perfect tone for the second and final moto of the day.

Prado kicked off the second moto with a bang, seizing the lead right from the start and never looking back. As the fastest rider on the track, he quickly built a commanding 3-second lead, delivering a masterful performance that left his rivals in the dust. Not only did he secure the race win, but he also claimed the fastest lap award, completing the double in spectacular fashion. This victory marked his first-ever triumph on Swedish soil and further narrowed the championship gap to just 17 points behind Gajser, sealing the double with style.

In MX2, Simon Längenfelder added to the GASGAS success with a strong, consistent performance highlighted by a double holeshot. Despite a crash in qualifying, Längenfelder bounced back to secure third place. In the opening moto, he took his sixth holeshot of the season, maintaining second place before finishing third. In the second moto, Simon once again led early after another brilliant holeshot, eventually finishing third, just behind Andrea Adamo. This consistency earned him his fourth consecutive podium and his 23rd career podium finish.

Capping off an incredible weekend for GASGAS, Beddini GASGAS Factory Juniors’ Valerio Lata went 4-1 to take second overall, maintaining his third position in the EMX250 championship.

With 15 rounds completed and five to go, the championship battles in MXGP and MX2 are heating up. Jorge Prado is closing in on the top spot, while Simon Längenfelder is just 23 points away from second place in the MX2 standings. Next up, the sands of Arnhem for the MXGP of the Netherlands on 18th August.

MXGP - #1 - Jorge Prado:
“I’m so happy to finally get back on top of the box! I knew I had to ride at absolute 100% to get the overall win here. I made it a little tough for myself in the first moto with the very bad start, but in the second moto I managed to get out of the gate much better and brake hard into the first corner. I put in some good opening laps and just tried to manage the pace. The track was very tough too - you had to be super accurate; but overall I’m just super happy! Let’s move on to the sand, and hopefully get another win over there! Thanks to the whole Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing Team - let’s go for the championship!”

MX2 - #516 - Simon Längenfelder: “
This race was definitely a tough one, especially finding the right lines on such a rocky surface. You had to be flawless, with no room for error—hitting the lines perfectly straight was crucial because even a small mistake could cost you. I didn’t have the speed to win today, but being back on the podium and staying consistent is a great feeling. I’m really happy with that.”
