ANDREA VERONA FIRED UP FOR HOME ISDE DEFENDING ENDURO1 WORLD CHAMPION LOOKING TO SECURE WORLD TROPHY TITLE WITH ITALY AT 95TH INTERNATIONAL SIX DAYS ENDURO Spearheading GASGAS’ participation in this year’s International Six Days Enduro in Italy, Andrea Verona is ready to help Team Italy in their bid to secure their first World Trophy team victory since 2007. Already an experienced Six Days competitor, Andrea knows what it’s like to taste ISDE success having topped the Junior World Trophy team competition in 2018. This time around, and together with close to 700 riders from all over the world, our EC 250F rider will take to the start of what is certain to be a very special event. Andrea Verona to lead GASGAS' participation at 95th ISDE Close to 700 riders set to start long-running annual event Former overall ISDE winner Ryan Sipes makes Six Days return Andrea Verona: “The ISDE is a really important race – to me, to Italy, to enduro. I can’t wait to start. I think for every rider, it is an honor to represent your country. For me to wear the Italian jersey is very special. I have a number of goals for this ISDE. The most important thing is for me to do my best to help Italy try and win the World Trophy competition. With six days of racing a lot can happen. But, on paper at least we have a very strong team, so we are confident and looking forward to the race. We have to all ride well, to give our all as individuals for the team, and then, day-by-day, we will see how things are going. Then, I want to do as well as I can in Enduro1, and try and win there. And, if things are going well for me, I want to do as well as I can in the overall individual category. But winning for Italy is my number one goal. Because of everything that has happened in the world with Covid, this ISDE is even more important than normal – a really important moment for our sport, for enduro in Italy, and for enduro fans and riders all around the world.” Delivering some of the best form of his career in recent EnduroGP events, Andrea heads into next week’s ISDE brimming with confidence and looking forward to racing on home soil. Competing alongside countrymen Davide Guarneri, Thomas Oldrati, and Matteo Cavallo in Team Italy’s World Trophy squad, Andrea is both hoping to do all he can to ensure a team win, while also topping, if all goes well during the week-long event, the Enduro1 category too. Postponed in 2020 due to the global Covid pandemic, the 95th running of the FIM International Six Days Enduro will start on Monday, August 30 and conclude on Saturday, September 4. During that time all competitors will face five full days of timecard racing in the north of Italy, completing close to 500km of riding through the Apennine Mountains, before racing the traditional final motocross test at the Valle Scrivia MX Circuit on the sixth and final day. Competing alongside Verona, 2015 outright individual ISDE winner Ryan Sipes will be another top-flight GASGAS racer in Italy, riding for Team USA in the Enduro1 class. GASGAS riders will also compete as part of the Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, and Canada World Trophy teams as well as in the Spain, France, Belgium, and Czech Republic Junior World Trophy teams, and United Kingdom, Portugal, and Spain Women’s World Trophy teams.
