Creating further buzz ahead of what will be a thrilling 19-round series, the Spanish team, together with GASGAS, will call upon the talents of two Spanish young guns to fly the flag in 2021. Sergio Garcia joins the GASGAS Aspar Team after a strong end to the 2020 Moto3 season. The Spaniard made two trips to the podium during the final three races last year and following a positive pre-season spent dialing in his all-new RC 250 GP race bike, the world number nine is gunning for glory in 2021. Sergio has his sights set firmly on capturing more podiums and chasing after his very first race win. I’ve spent some time on the bike already and great, really capable of doing great things. A lot of the off-season has been spent on the bike, fine tuning the set-up and I am really happy with where we are. We’ve ridden many different circuits with different asphalt, which is important ahead of the season starting, and we have a good set up for each surface. So, I’m really confident on the bike on all surfaces. I’m still learning the bike step-by-step, with racing you never stop learning, but I am excited for the season to start. With the bike that I have now, I believe I can be in the battle at the front of the field this year at every race, and I think it will be possible to push for wins as well. For sure this will not be easy, but I feel really competitive, and I’ll be doing everything in my power to make this happen for myself, and for the team.” Ivan Guevara: “I am proud to be in the World Championship at the age of 16 and, above all, with a team like the GASGAS Aspar Team. They have so much experience and now with the official support of GASGAS, a brand with Spanish heritage, I hope to achieve great result and return everything they are doing for me. During the pre-season my preparation was very similar to previous years. I have been working out in the gym and on the bike, but I have focused more on explosiveness and endurance to improve my fitness even further, as the races this season will be a bit longer than in the Junior Moto3 World Championship. And the race pace will surely be faster. In my first pre-season tests I felt very comfortable. I still have to work on my corner speed, but we will continue to adapt, and I have a good feeling with the bike already. The main objective of this season is to be the rookie of the year. But, if it isn’t possible, I would try to score points in all of the races and always learn. The truth is that, as a Spanish rider, racing with a brand with as much history as GASGAS, it is a great honor. I hope to be able to take it to the top very soon.” Jorge Martinez (GASGAS Aspar Team Manager): "To take GASGAS into the Moto3 World Championship is a super important moment for myself and for the team. As a proud Spanish team, to be the first to work with a brand with such strong Spanish roots, and to take them into the top level of road racing, it’s very, very special. The 2021 season will be super exciting for us. Of course, we intend to continue with the super-good results that we achieved during 2020 and together with our two strong riders, Sergio Garcia and Izan Guevara, we’re focused on fighting for podiums straight away. We can’t wait to start racing and we look forward to taking GASGAS onto the world stage in the FIM Grand Prix World Championship.” Pit Beirer GASGAS Motorsport Director: “We are excited to add some bright red to the Moto3 class for 2021 and it’s a big pleasure to continue the expansion of the GASGAS name into more areas of motorsport. GASGAS is a company full of energy that is moving places, so it is an ideal fit for the youth, the action and the excitement of Moto3. It’s a big bonus - and an achievement already - to combine with a competitive team like Aspar Moto3 for the first year. As always we expect some crazy scenes in this class and it will be cool to watch how those GASGAS bikes will play a part.” Calendar - 2021 FIM Grand Prix World Championship Moto3™️ Round 1: 28 Mar Grand Prix of Qatar – Losail Round 2: 4 Apr Grand Prix of Doha – Losail Round 3: 18 Apr Grand Prix of Portugal Round 4: 2 May Grand Prix of Spain – Jerez Round 5: 16 May Grand Prix of France – Le Mans Round 6: 30 May Grand Prix of Italy – Mugello Round 7: 6 Jun Grand Prix of Catalunya – Catalunya Round 8: 20 Jun Grand Prix of Germany – Sachsenring Round 9: 27 Jun Grand Prix of the Netherlands – Assen Round 10: 11 Jul Grand Prix of Finland – KymiRing Round 11: 15 Aug Grand Prix of Austria – Red Bull Ring Round 12: 29 Aug Grand Prix of Great Britain – Silverstone Round 13: 12 Sep Grand Prix of Aragon – MotorLand Aragon Round 14: 19 Sep Grand Prix of San Marino – Misano Round 15: 3 Oct Grand Prix of Japan – Twin Ring Motegi Round 16: 10 Oct Grand Prix of Thailand – Chang Round 17: 24 Oct Grand Prix of Australia – Phillip Island Round 18: 31 Oct Grand Prix of Malaysia – Sepang Round 19: 14 Nov Grand Prix of Valencia – Ricardo Tormo
